As the Conference Co-Chairs, it is our pleasure to invite you to attend the WVAEOPP/VAEOPP 2009 Fall Conference on October 4-7, 2009 at the Embassy Suites in Charleston, West Virginia. This four day conference is a great opportunity to network with other TRiO professionals and gain knowledge pertinent to your TRiO program and participants. Our conference theme, Portraits of Success: Bridges to the Next Horizon, will highlight conference topics related to:
* Managing Programs for Accountability and Sustainability
* Utilizing Technology and Technology Resources Effectively
* Improving Service Delivery to TRiO Participants
* Building Stronger Relationships and Community Networks
* Overcoming Barriers to Postsecondary Education Success
* Leading in Times of Change and Uncertainty
New this year is a pre-conference workshop, Framework for Understanding Poverty, conducted by a certified Ruby Payne trainer on Sunday, October 4, 2009 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. This session is designed to help you better understand and learn how to work more effectively with students from poverty.
